Shiver Sweet is the newest in H.C. Elliston's line of suspense novels. It is definitely worth reading.Christa and Nicola live in a remote location far from other houses and a huge snowstorm comes through town, complicating matters further. They are separated when Christa goes to look for her missing daughter, and Nicola gets the surprise of her life. Things aren't what they appear. You never know who's watching.
Honestly, this started off a little slow for me because I had a hard time connecting with Christa at the very beginning. However, I absolutely loved Nicola, and her chapters kept me eagerly reading along. About 30% through, Christa and I started clicking as well and then I could not put it down.
The author kept upping the tension throughout this story, and things just got better and better as I went along. A true romantic at heart, I liked to see the little love story played out in this book as well. Everything blended together to lead up to the perfect ending.
I thought the plot was well-constructed and the bad guys creepy. Overall, a good read that I recommend.

This book is a true page turner!! It's full of mystery that will keep u guessing.
If you like mystery and romance, this book is for you!
If you love unexpected plot twists, heinous villains, creepy men lurking around every corner, look over your shoulder. Someone could be watching you! Christa and Nicola are two best friends planning a simple birthday party. Things quickly spiral out of hand when they head out in the middle of an ice storm. Confusion reigns and Nicola finds herself alone with dangerous and ruthless men who force her into silence.
Gruesome and bloody scenarios abound. This author's imagination knows no limit. Nicola must remain quiet about what she saw. Later, an innocent man is framed, leaving a trail of blood in the snow. Unable to protect all their friends, Nicola and Christa face down the enemy alone with a burlesque shower scene as distraction.
This story will have your head turning this way and that. A fun read, sure to keep you amazed!

Vividly feeling the pain of one of the antagonist was a new experience for me. It's rare to read thier point of view, making the story full of dimensions and mini-plots that kept me reading late at night.
Watching the ladies paranoia turn on each other, even briefly, made the story realistic and tension filled. If I were in that house, I'd be suspicious of every one that came and went. The characters are easily relatable and well-developed. The book was edited well with out a lot of distracting mistakes. H.C Elliston is talent that I'd love to read more from.
Like some other reviewers, the first few chapters moved along a bit slow, but not long into the story I was hooked. I have to say, I am honestly disturbed at the concept that I can't outline without turning the review into a spoiler, but let's just say the details of the story regarding the "They're watching you" hook are a thousand times more diabolical than you might think. I have to discipline myself from going online and finding out if schemes like that really exist. Just icky!
Nicola was my favorite and I wish I knew which of her admirers she wound up falling for (if any).
I'm American, and one of the coolest parts was connecting with the British lingo. Loved it, and I recommend this one to anyone who loves mystery, suspense, and a sweet little HEA to bundle it all together.
Shiver Sweet is full of surprises. You never know what's going to happen next, and you can get easily attached to the main characters.
Their background is revealed in pieces, so the reader starts to connect step by step--just like happens in real life--and ends up caring deeply for them. Their ordeal is a very scary one, and in modern times where people are taking the voyeuristic pleasures to a whole new level, unfortunately not that unbelievable.
HC Elliston has a real gift to describe action scenes, so you can actually "see" what's happening, as if in a movie. If you like romance and mystery put together, don't miss this one!
This was a fantastic story. The author kept me on the edge of my seat for most of the book. As a woman, I can sympathize with these characters - being alone in a house, being at the mercy of intruders, I could even picture the cameras. I really just wanted to get to the end to ensure everything went well and that the characters were safe. The characters were well-developed and I liked the way each chapter was from a different POV.
The only thing that was hard was in the beginning I was confused as to who everyone was, which made it a little hard to follow for the first couple of chapters. I had to re-read some parts in the beginning.
Other than that, I thought this was well-written and I definitely can't wait to read more from this author!

The author is to be congratulated. It was very well written and easy to follow. I couldn't find any spelling or grammatical errors (if they were there then I was so caught up in the story that I didn't notice them).
One of the best thrillers I have read in a long time - I didn't want to stop reading - if it wasn't for the loud rumblings of my family's stomachs interrupting me then I probably wouldn't have.
