This is a great book and one that I can identify with growing up with a migrant father. Thank you Maria for your honesty and courage in sharing your story. There are not many migrant stories out there. Your writing is beautiful and authentic. I love how you wove the past in with the present. I actually analysed your book as part of my thesis for my own studies as I could not find another memoir/creative non-fiction book that used primary sources throughout the whole book as you have. Maria's book is a wonder of both language and intriguing issues and storyline- it is a must read for any english speaking person with an italian background.
